The opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic translational research lab that is focused on research in Type 1 diabetes and in particular optimising islet transplantation outcomes in diabetic rodent models. Islets and other insulin secreting cells are transplanted into the liver of diabetic rodents and the effect of these cells are later assessed. The post holder will help carry out a number of analyses on blood and tissue under supervision and support of the team including a senior research technician.
The lab has a number of projects funded by charitable foundations and industry, which includes research with stem cell derived islets.
This post is for 6 months, with the possibility of extending, full-time (35 hours per week) however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.
