The role

We are looking for a Research Administrator to support the research activities of the Business School. Research Administrators provide general administrative support to academic staff, the Research Manager and the Research Director. The postholder will act as the first point of contact for enquiries, and as a liaison point for all relevant internal and external contacts.

The role will be based in Howard House with scope for blended working in line with the school’s guidance. 

What will you be doing?

  • Assisting academic staff with the preparation of research proposals, utilising the University’s costing software (Worktribe) to create, check and finalise costings for research proposals.
  • Tracking the results of research proposals, gathering financial information (train fares, transcription costs )
  • Coordinating events, such as internal seminars, workshops or conferences.
  • Supporting research groups and keeping up to date with local research interests.
  • Monitoring internal budgets, tracking spending and advising staff on funding options and policies.
  • Dealing with day to day enquiries, being one of the first points of contact for research support within the school.
  • Supporting school committees with administrative tasks, preparing agendas and taking minutes.
