The James Watt School of Engineering is looking for a Research Associate to make a leading contribution to the GRAPHICS project ‘Gallium nitRide based Advanced PHotonIc Crystal Structures’ working with Prof Anthony Kelly and Dr Scott Watson, alongside external partners, Vector Photonics. The primary focus will be to create the UK’s first visible surface emitting GaN laser. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow.
