Digital innovation is at the heart of Lancaster University’s strategy ambition. We are focused on developing new ways of delivering the best experience possible for all our students, whether they are based at our green Campus or studying at home, wherever that may be in the world. Joining us is your chance to help transform who we are and where we are going.
The Opportunity
We are searching for a digital learning facilitator to join our Digital Learning team. You will work collaboratively with academic colleagues across a range of disciplines to design engaging online modules and develop high-quality digital learning resources for online and blended learning. You will support staff in their use of the Virtual Learning Environment, solve problems creatively, advise on best practice and contribute to a broader understanding of the opportunities digital learning presents for the Institution.

Alongside strong interpersonal and communication skills, the successful candidate will ideally have prior experience of developing and delivering training resources in an educational context. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who relishes working in teams from a range of disciplines, possesses strong analytical ability and has a passion for helping others reach their goals.
Please refer to the included job description and person specification for further details of essential and desirable qualifications for the role.
So why us?
You would be joining an agile, innovative team, working in an environment that fosters knowledge sharing and consideration of others, where you will be encouraged to learn new skills and technologies.
While the role will be based at our Bailrigg Campus, we actively encourage a positive work/life balance and enable flexible working from home, or elsewhere, whenever appropriate and possible.
Recognising of the talents of our diverse workforce through an excellent reward package that includes 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays and University closure days), a generous pension scheme, and a flexible benefits package that includes options for travel, childcare, wellbeing and the purchase of additional leave.
We are proactive in engagement with our staff to help us to understand the lived experiences of our university community and to understand how we are doing in creating a fairer and more inclusive University. Our multi-faith Chaplaincy Centre is a welcoming place for people of all faiths and none.
This is a great opportunity for you to have a transformative impact on the student experience of digital learning and further your own career with a global leader in Higher Education.
Candidates should contact Steven Powell (s.powell@lancaster.ac.uk), Digital Learning Team Leader, for any questions or informal discussion about the role.
