The University’s Information Technology and Computing Service (ITCS) is at the heart of all things technology wise within UEA. The scope of ITCS covers all aspects for IT provision for the University’s Faculties, Schools and Professional Services divisions. Services are provided to students and staff covering both academic and research activities.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated System Specialist to join a successful team delivering core infrastructure services and end-user device solutions to the University.
Under the direction of the Head of Systems, and working closely with stakeholders, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, documentation and support of Microsoft 365 based Cloud Services that will support the delivery of IT Infrastructure services at UEA. You will ensure interoperability between central systems (including storage and networking) in accordance with defined processes and security policies and will be expected to participate in the Out of Hours cover scheme.
Appointment will be at Grade 7 for an applicant with demonstrable previous experience, otherwise appointment will be made at Grade 6 with a structured training and development plan. A minimum of an IT related degree (or equivalent qualification or experience) is essential, along with demonstrable experience of systems development, ideally including experience of managing and deploying an enterprise-level secure infrastructure. Presentation, negotiation and problem-solving skills are also essential. You will be able to satisfy all the essential criteria in the person specification for the post.
This full-time post is available on an indefinite basis. One post available, appointment will be between grade 6 to 7 dependent on skills and experience.
