The role

The Centre for Academic Language and Development is located within the Faculty of Arts, Law and Social Sciences, but works with students of all backgrounds at all levels across a growing range of disciplines throughout the University of Bristol.  As a centre, we strive to work according to the principles of development, reflexivity, autonomy, collaboration, transparency and transferability in everything we do. What will you be doing?

As one of three Deputy Directors, you will join the Senior Management Team of a Centre that has seen dramatic growth over the last 5 years at a time when the University of Bristol is moving from a focus on international recruitment to the development of an environment where international students can thrive and grow in a rapidly changing and challenging world. As well as contributing to the overall strategic leadership and management of the Centre and deputising for the Director where appropriate, you will lead on the continued development of our International Foundation Programme, delivering a high-quality experience for an increasingly diverse group of students and staff. Relationship building will be the key to successful delivery of this role, which involves working collaboratively with all three Faculties, central Professional Services divisions such as Education and Student Success, and Global Engagement, as well as with our external IFP recruitment partner.

You will be aware of the challenges and opportunities facing International Foundation Programmes and have the energy, enthusiasm, and resilience to lead positive change.
