Academic Manager

INTO University of East Anglia are looking to recruit an Academic Manager to provide first class academic leadership, management and pastoral provision for Foundation Science pathways. You will support the academic success and onward progression of our students and play an important role in the development of our courses.

The role focusses on the leadership and management of the teaching team to ensure quality provision, an exceptional student experience and progression, as well as longer term strategy.

You will be expected to contribute to the teaching on the programme and / or on other programmes. All science subject specialisms will be considered. 

Some of your key accountabilities and duties will include:

  • Overall responsibility for the effective academic and administrative management of our validated science programmes.
  • Effectively manage a team of teachers in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • Plan and implement student academic improvement measures – review transcripts, progress reports and monitor students’ academic improvement plans.
  • Design, monitor and review student interventions to ensure efficient delivery of student support to increase attainment and progression. 

About You:

The successful applicant will have experience of teaching at Sixth Form / FE / HE level and be able to demonstrate effective leadership and people management and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.

You must possess a relevant postgraduate qualification and teaching qualification or experience and have strong organisational and people skills.

Above all, you will have the ability and enthusiasm to inspire and motivate others and be driven towards the highest standards of Learning and Teaching.

INTO UEA’s purpose-built, modern, on-campus building provides a stimulating environment where students can live, study and relax. At the building’s heart is the academic block, which features a multi-purpose lecture theatre, science laboratories, flexible multi-use classrooms, quiet study areas, and student support services.

Over 3,700 students have progressed to the University of East Anglia from academic programmes since the INTO partnership began in 2006.

Location: INTO University of East Anglia, Norwich Research Park, Norwich, NR4 7TJ.
