Overall Purpose of the Job
The University welcomes applications for the above 1-year fixed term Lecturer, dependent on qualifications and experience, within the Department of Materials. As an adaptive lecturer, you will be expected to make a significant contribution at the interface of the discipline, whilst developing student skills and knowledge at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The successful applicant will contribute to teaching in the area of Fashion Technology – (which may include but is not limited the areas of Garment Technology, Garment Production, Contemporary Issues in Fashion and Textiles). The candidate will have an awareness of investigating advancements in fashion textiles technology that impact design, garment manufacturing, and sustainability within the fashion sector; researching the technical aspects of product innovation in materials and manufacturing processes.
This is a teaching and scholarship focused role and you will contribute to the design, development and ongoing refinement of Fashion Technology teaching content and will develop innovative teaching, assessment marking and support to students on the taught programmes offered by the Department (where appropriate).
