At UCL you will be part of the Infrastructure Systems Institute which is a research-centric team passionate about uninterrupted and effective critical services from linear (economic) infrastructures (transport, energy, water, waste, and telecommunications)

About the role

The salary for this role is £52,558  per annum pro rata incl. London allowance. This is a part time role working 29.2 Hours per week.This position is currently funded until the 31st of December 2024.

The Executive Manager is the senior role of the core coordination function which implements the programme of activities agreed by the UKCRIC (UK Collaboratorium for Research on Infrastructure and Cities) Governing Board.

UKCRIC is a multi-university initiative drawing on both government and university financial contributions to establish a portfolio of research and innovation facilities and programmes with a mission to underpin the renewal, sustainment and improvement of infrastructure and cities in the UK and elsewhere.

About you

The Executive Manager must have skills in programme, portfolio and project management, business development, and facilities’ co-ordination to enable them to deliver a key role in the successful coordination of activities between UKCRIC institutions, members, partners, funders and professional institutions. The successful candidate will have experience of managing large programmes, across multiple stakeholders, disciplines and geographies, in industry and/or government with a focus on science, engineering, infrastructure or the built environment, and experience of engaging in business management, identifying and tendering for bids, including justification/argumentation, costing and scheduling. Experience of working across large organisations, ideally in a higher education institution, and complying with complex governance and reporting arrangements, and having an understanding of research and innovation environments, particularly with regard to infrastructure and cities rese arch and test facilities and/or technology innovation hubs are also essential. A postgraduate qualification relevant to the infrastructure or cities environment, or management thereof, would be an advantage.
