The College of Health and Life Sciences (CHLS) within HBKU aims to deliver innovative programs that meet educational needs in the fields of health and life sciences for Qatar and the region.

Position

The College of Health and Life Sciences (CHLS) invites applications for Open Rank Faculty Positions at all levels. Scholars with an outstanding track record in any of the fields of Biopsychology, Neuroscience, Genomic/Precision Medicine, Bioinformatics, and Biostatistics are encouraged to apply.

CHLS is well-positioned to undergo growth. The university and the college offer good opportunities for professional enrichment and personal fulfillment. Research within HBKU is enhanced by a highly collaborative environment at CHLS and the research institutes (QBRI, QCRI, QEERI), as well as with partner universities within Qatar Foundation.

Job Role Description

  • Deliver consistent and high-caliber research productivity.
  • Teach and supervise graduate students.
  • Participate and lead in administrative duties that influence the college’s output and direction strategies.
  • Contribute to the university’s success through university committees and involvement in community professional activities.
  • Consistently act as a good citizen and role model.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Ph.D. in fields related to Biopsychology, Neuroscience, Genomic/Precision Medicine, Bioinformatics, and Biostatistics.
  • Ideally, 10 – 12+ years of relevant full-time university teaching experience in research, higher education, or closely related areas in industry (additional experience may be required to show equivalency), with evidence of increasing professional maturity and productivity.
  • Extensive track record of research with significant contribution to the discipline through professional service.

For Senior-Level Faculty Positions

  • Evidence or potential for extramural funding.
  • Evidence of experience of successful contribution to the development of young investigators.
  • Evidence of experience in graduate education, formal classroom teaching, and program development.
  • Good knowledge of academic policies, procedures, and ethical issues.
