The Strategic Improvement team is a relatively new team at the University of Bedfordshire that is responsible for providing high quality analysis and reporting to support the achievement of the university’s overall strategic and operational objectives as it delivers its Transforming Bedfordshire strategy.
The Senior Planning Officer is a new role that will play a key part in developing the new Strategic Improvement capability by contributing leadership and technical expertise to at least one of the following two areas: data governance and/or business intelligence frameworks. The role will make a significant contribution to supporting data-informed decision-making at the university through improved data quality and analysis.
The role is also responsible for leading the university’s annual HESES return to the Office for Students and acting as a key interface between HESES and the HESA student record and other statutory returns (which are compiled outside of the Strategic Improvement team).
The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills combined with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with a range of audiences across the university. They will have direct experience of compiling HESES returns, and strong experience in data governance to improve data quality and/or the development of business intelligence frameworks. They will also be a good problem solver with a collaborative working style and a desire for continuous improvement.
