SALARY & HOURS: £27,336 per annum plus responsibility allowance (maternity cover until July 2025). 0.6 FTE.
This post is an ideal opportunity for someone who is GMC registered and wishes to continue their leadership development of educational insight and capability.
The post holder will supervise the clinical educator pool at an operational level, ensuring rotas are completed and daily as well as longitudinal tasks are undertaken across the pool of clinical educators. The post holder will interview and recruit new clinical educators to the team as required through liaison with local education providers, the curriculum team and the Phase 1 lead.
When required on the rota, the post holders will act as a clinical educator to work with the unit leads in planning and delivering all aspects of undergraduate medical education in Phase 1 of the curriculum in a variety of different methods. However, the post-holder will be supernumerary if the rota is full and released to complete their leadership activities.
The primary role of the clinical educators is to support the unit leads in delivering group work sessions, to act as group work facilitators and integrate biomedical science in a clinical context for the students’ learning in the early years. Secondary to this role is a varied number of additional tasks which the clinical educators may be required to participate in depending on when opportunities arise. These include:

ESSENTIAL:
Postgraduate doctor – degree in Medicine.
Current GMC registration with licence to practice with a minimum of 2 years postgraduate experience.
A minimum of 1 year in-post as a clinical educator at the University of Buckingham Medical School.
PG Cert MedEd qualification.
Enthusiasm for all aspects of Medical Education.
Proven ability to establish good relationships with Faculty colleagues and students.
Excellent team working skills.
Effective communication skills.
Pro-active approach to autonomous working.
Creative and rational approaches to tasks.
Logical rational thinking.
Proficient in MS Office/365.
