We are looking for the type of person who wants to make a difference to our students journey in higher education.

SFFS offers information and support to new and returning students who are receiving funding from Student Finance England and other awarding bodies.

Main duties and responsibilities

This is a varied position with the opportunity to contribute to new working practices and supporting students across both campuses.

The administrator will be expected to develop specialist knowledge relating to all aspects of Student Finance funding for Home/EU students with an emphasis on Student Loans Company eligibility. Processing student records for the SLC (including attendance/registration confirmations, change of circumstances etc.), providing advice and assistance to students is a key aspect of this role.

The role will also include providing administrative support for the University Hardship Fund and any scholarship/bursary awards. You will also be dealing with all student enquiries and information requests through multiple contact methods (including face-to-face, telephone, IT systems (e.g. email, SMS, Web) and other formats as appropriate).

Skills and experience required

For this busy and challenging role, you will have excellent organisational and IT skills. Proven experience of customer service and working to strict deadlines is essential. You will also be a good communicator, with the ability to pay attention to detail and you will be committed to providing a high-quality service.

You will be able to follow clearly defined processes and be keen to collaborate and improve processes to increase our student experience.
