The Department of Pathology is seeking a highly motivated and professional individual to undertake financial duties, providing proactive support to academic and research staff.
We are a department that truly values teamwork and has strong and inclusive programme of wellbeing.
Candidates will ideally be educated to AAT level four (or equivalent level of practical experience).
You will be highly numerate, analytical and proficient in standard software packages, particularly Excel.
You will be well-organised and able to prioritise effectively and work to tight deadlines. The role requires a good understanding of finance and strong problem solving skills. Excellent communication skills are also essential, including the ability to explain financial regulations and procedures effectively to non-finance staff.
You will need to have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively as a member of a team and to build positive working relationships with a wide variety of colleagues.
Previous experience of working in an accounts environment within a University would be an advantage.

It is vital that you possess excellent inter-personal skills to be able to work well with the team and manage good working relationships with a wide variety of people from all over the world, in order to gain an understanding of the needs of academics and research staff and deliver a responsive financial service to them.
You will be involved in contributing to continuous improvements in the Department's financial administration through close cooperation with the central Finance team.
