The University of Glasgow is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant within the James Watt School of Engineering.
The successful applicant will contribute to a project on “Prototyping critical safety component for the electrification of aircraft” working with Dr. Wenjuan Song. The project will design and prototype an superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL), which will be compact, efficient, light in weight and effective in limiting the fault current; In addition, the SFCL will have fast recovery functionality for meeting the requirement of reclosing of system in fault conditions.
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow.
This post is part-time (17.5 hours per week), and fixed term for 6 months.
