A bit about Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations…
In the Directorate of Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations, we are responsible for the core range of activities that promote and engage with our external environment and stakeholders. This includes both prospective and current students, businesses and our local community. Made up of Marketing and Communications, Student Recruitment and Outreach and External Relations teams, we work together to plan and deliver key activities that support the University’s ambitions for growth, diversity and an increased profile.
The Student Communications & Engagement team sits within the Communications team and works closely with student-facing services, including Student Experience & Support colleagues, championing the student experience and ensuring that our students are at the heart of everything we do.
So, what will the role involve?
This role will include content creation and review, analysing engagement on our student-facing channels and managing a busy inbox of promotion requests.
Your day-to-day tasks could vary from creating an Instagram story promoting an event, to reviewing and answering a promotion request email, or running a report on social media post-performance. You would work within a team of 6 within the University to support communications campaign planning and delivery.
You will require strong communication and interpersonal skills, together with confidence and professionalism. You will have specific responsibility to manage a busy request inbox and keep on top of responses and internal communication. Together with the team, you will work to proactively engage our students throughout their student journey across all communications channels.
You will focus on building effective relationships with colleagues across the University to ensure the delivery of content production, communication, campaigns and digital engagement.
This role requires impeccable organisational skills, and a keen eye for detail.
A key element of all our roles is to contribute to our planning and content production. Thinking about how Salford can transform the way it addresses equity disparities, embraces diversity and becomes more inclusive.
