Job description
We are currently seeking an SITs Improvement Manager, who will focus on the University’s student records system and data improvement here at Bath Spa University.
About the role
As SITs Improvement Manager, you will play a central and key part in ensuring a robust, fit for purpose record set and associated processes, whilst helping to plan and develop enhancements and new tools, including automation, to ensure continued high data quality. Within your role you will lead and support a team of two members in enhancing our university's data quality and student records system. You will collaborate closely with the Data Quality Team, including the Head of Data Quality and the Data Quality Manager, to align strategies with our university's policies. Building strong relationships with colleagues across departments, including IT and Registry Services, will be key in driving planned enhancements effectively. You will also analyse current processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing new practices or tools as needed, whilst anticipating future changes, such as external data submission requirements or new course provisions, and proactively plan for their integration.
About you
You will excel in managing and developing a small team, whilst working collaboratively and positively with a wide range of colleagues toward a shared goal. You will understand how student records are structured, identify issues, inconsistencies, gaps and areas of risk and be able to work with colleagues to identify how to best fix issues or make improvements. You will easily prioritise work and projects and ensure that core governance and data assurance policies are adhered to and embedded within day-to-day work and processes. In addition, you will show the ability to plan for change whilst ensuring that daily tasks are maintained to a high standard.
