Professor/Associate Professor in Fashion Business

The School of Fashion and Textiles used to be under PolyU’s Faculty of Applied Science and Textiles for many years, but as of July 2022, the university spun it off and established it as an independent school to meet the growing demand and explore creative possibilities.

Professor/Associate Professor in Fashion Business 

We invite an accomplished scholar in a broad spectrum of fashion businesses. The appointee will be required to (a) teach and lead in the programme planning, management and curriculum development at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels and supervise research students; (b) provide leadership in promoting research collaboration; (c) secure external competitive research grants, conduct academic research, consultancy and other scholarly activities leading to publications in high-impact journals and awards of research grants; (d) facilitate the School to gain and increase visibility and international/industrial connections; and (e) lead academic and departmental committees. 

Applicants should have (a) a PhD degree in Fashion Business, Marketing, Psychology, Sociology, Economics or disciplines related to Fashion Management; (b) solid experience in University teaching and/or excellent record in academic and research achievement in Supply Chain, Operation Management, Retail Operation, Digital Marketing, Consumer Behaviour, Innovation Management, Fashion Entrepreneurship or related areas; (c) high-impact research and publication record in high quality scholarly journals or strong potential to publish in top-tier refereed journals; (d) strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research and professional service; and (e) excellent communication skills and be able to use English as the medium of instruction. 

Applicants for appointment at Professor level should have substantial years of relevant post-qualification experience and an excellent record of relevant academic and/or research achievement.  Applicants with less experience will be considered for appointment as Associate Professor.

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. An appropriate term will be provided for appointment at Professor and Associate Professor levels.
