Legal Clinic Director

Salary from £59,670 to £69,092 per annum inclusive with potential to progress to £76,562 pa inclusive of London allowance

This is a fixed term appointment for 5 years

The Legal Clinic Director will lead on the establishment of this ground-breaking pro bono legal Clinic offering training opportunities to students and free legal advice to members of the public.  The initial focus of the Clinic will be in the field of Employment Law.

The Clinic Director will lead on the ongoing strategic direction and development of the LSE Clinic, working with senior Law School colleagues on the design and delivery of strategic plans and initiatives.  They will implement and manage new projects and developments within the LSE Clinic and assess the operational impact, objectives and develop project plans and consider risk assessments.

Candidates should have significant experience of university legal clinics and/or pro bono in the provision of legal services.  They should be qualified as a solicitor/barrister in England & Wales with entitlement to a current practice certificate.  Experience of, or a willingness to be involved in, fundraising is essential. They should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience of dealing with a wide range of people in an appropriate, sensitive and tactful manner.
