We seek candidates (either clinical or non-clinical) for two-year positions as Senior Transition Fellows in Cardiovascular Sciences at the newly established Manchester British Heart Foundation Centre of Research Excellence (CRE). These Fellowships will provide support (personal salary, access to scientific support posts, and consumables) for successful candidates to prepare, within the timeframe of the funding, applications for externally funded personal Fellowships at Senior level to consolidate their scientific independence.
You will have a strong track record of scientific achievement and profile as an emerging leader in your field. You will lead a research programme that aligns with one or more of the five Research Themes of the Manchester CRE (Cardiovascular Genomics and Development; Heart Failure; Cardiovascular/Cerebrovascular Inflammation; Data Science; Computational Cardiovascular Medicine).
As part of your application you should use the “additional information” section to include a 2 page outline of your proposed external fellowship, and specific objectives (eg key preliminary data) required prior to the external submission, that you will achieve during the CRE fellowship.
