Job Summary

To assist in clinical research to investigate the effects of brain stimulation in the treatment of mood disorders, involving Artificial Intelligence algorithms.
To compose patient record summaries prior to patient evaluation prior to TMS treatment.
To carry out patient evaluation before and after TMS treatment.
To undertake assessments using QEEG and carry out brain stimulation protocols in the treatment of mood disorders.
To assist in the analysis of various forms of data including QEEG, clinical rating scales, neuropsychological tasks and statistical measures.
Assist in the planning and delivery of an efficient ethical high quality QEEG/TMS treatment service.
Contribute to the continued development of the QEEG/TMS service through team discussions, publications, conferences and networks.
To carry out any other duties within the scope of the job as requested.

Duties

Assist the development, organisation and implementation of various clinical projects using QEEG and TMS to optimise treatment efficacy and efficiency.
Undertake clinical assessments and TMS treatments.
Ensure high quality EEG recordings are achieved for analysis.
Assist with entering and recording electronic data, notes and reports in relation to patients’ information.
To keep up to date with developments in brain imaging techniques and brain stimulation treatments.
Assist the construction of an appropriate TMS treatment protocol of frequency, duration and power to meet the aims of a research project.
Provide appropriate and often complex information to clients, relatives and/or carers, and other professionals about the attendance requirements to comply with the treatment protocol.
Ensure clients, relatives and/or carers understand through verbal explanation the aims and objectives of a treatment protocol.
Monitor the treatment effects of TMS in accordance with the trial protocol to ensure efficacy for each client.
Assist with production of reports and interpretation of QEEG/TMS treatment effects for each client.
Assist with production of a report, statistical analysis and interpretation of outcomes of research projects.
Assist with dissemination of the results through publication, conferences, networks and other media.
Assist the construction of an appropriate simultaneous QEEG/TMS treatment protocol of frequency, duration and power to meet the aims of a research project.
Assist with the development of research to evaluate the predictive capabilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms to identify appropriate treatment combinations using a database of QEEG phenotypes and TMS therapies.
