Safeguarding & Prevent Manager

Bury College

Bury College is now welcoming applications for a new Safeguarding and Prevent Manager.

As the Safeguarding and Prevent Manager you will be the college's Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, and you will provide a highly effective safeguarding service to the college.

You will ensure that the college's Safeguarding and Prevent policies, procedures and practices are effective, developed in accordance with current and best practice and embedded across the organisation and associated stakeholders.

The Safeguarding and Prevent Manager will be a first point of contact for safeguarding referrals, ensuring that all risks are managed swiftly and effectively. You will assign members of the safeguarding team to investigate issues as they arise, whilst taking the lead on complex safeguarding investigation and liaising appropriately with students, staff, external agencies, partners and parents.

Candidates for this role must hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Safeguarding and have experience in a relevant role. Experience of working with young people and vulnerable adults and handling safeguarding referrals is essential. An excellent knowledge and understanding of current safeguarding legislation is essential as is the ability to develop positive relationships with internal staff and external organisations.
