About the role
The Mathematical Institute at the University of Oxford will soon begin a new project to mentor students for GCSE Mathematics. We will work directly with identified schools to support Key Stage 4 (KS4) students to reach the very top grades in GCSE Mathematics by providing a sustained programme of resources and mentoring. In particular, we will focus on students on track to achieve at least a grade 7 in GCSE Mathematics who have the potential to achieve a grade 8 or 9.
We’re looking for a professional with experience creating and developing Mathematics resources to educate, challenge, and inspire students. The role focuses on the development of content for students at schools with characteristics identified in the University’s Access and Participation Plan, but will also include content for the mentors and potentially also other stakeholders, e.g. teachers at schools, parents/guardians of the students.
Together with the Project Manager, the Outreach Learning Design and Content Coordinator will take a leadership role for the project, shaping the vision and being an ambassador for the work of the project.
The Outreach Learning Design and Content Coordinator will work alongside the rest of the outreach team in the Mathematical Institute, including the Admissions and Outreach Coordinator (line manager for this role), the Outreach Administrator (responsible for the administration of other projects), and the Academic Lead for Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach (a faculty member with oversight of outreach).
