Opportunity:

Are you passionate about quality assurance and have experience of working in the UK HE sector? Do you have the skills and motivation to drive continuous improvements and deliver meaningful impact? If so, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for an engaging and confident individual to contribute to the strategic development of the University’s Quality Management Office (QMO) and to plan, guide and manage its day-to-day activities in providing an excellent service to its stakeholders.

You will have excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders at different levels across the University to meet their different requirements and ensure best outcomes.

You will be instrumental in contributing to institutional projects aligned to the University Strategy 2025-2030.

 Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Leading a team of professional staff to ensure activities within the scope of Quality Management Office meet the highest standard.
  • Overseeing and co-ordinate effective operational strategies to manage and embed quality and enhancement activities across all programmes, drawing on best practice from the HE sector and regulatory bodies.
  • Providing expert advice on new and existing programme developments, ensuring alignment and compliance with regulations and quality assurance policies, taking action when requirements are not met.
  • Having oversight of domestic and international collaborative partners and programmes, using the same quality management approaches as that agreed for on-campus provision.
  • Being responsible for auditing academic processes to assess effectiveness and build confidence in specific areas.

The role also requires you to manage your workload effectively, be organised and work accurately and efficiently when under pressure, whilst maintaining a positive outlook. Strong skills in writing reports, presentations and data analysis are important. Colleagues and students will find you reliable, supportive, and fair.

A bit about the Quality Management Office (QMO):

We are a friendly and welcoming team with responsibility for ensuring that quality assurance policies and procedures are robust and effective in securing and monitoring the standards of academic awards.  We work closely with academic and professional services colleagues to deliver quality assurance activities for all provision, including collaborative partnerships and apprenticeships, student casework and academic governance.

What’s in it for you?

A competitive salary and excellent pension scheme, a generous annual leave entitlement, flexible and hybrid working (subject to business requirements), and a comprehensive package of training and professional development opportunities to help you achieve your full potential!  There’s a real sense of belonging here at Salford. We value diversity, in backgrounds and in experiences. Our difference makes us stronger, and together we share a passion for improving students’ lives.
