Lecturer (Grade 8) is £46,735 - £55,755;
Senior Lecturer (Grade 9) is £57,422 - £66,537 per annum.
The Department of Computer Science is seeking up to seven academics to join our expanding AI & Machine Learning Research Group.
We are a collaborative team engaging across the university and beyond, and home to the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Accountable, Responsible & Transparent AI (ART-AI). We also host the CAMERA centre, enabling cutting-edge AI research in areas like virtual production and motion capture. With access to extensive HPC and in-house GPU cloud resources, we offer a vibrant research environment. We support your growth with mentoring, leadership opportunities, and collaboration with academic and industry partners in fields such as entertainment, sport, defence, and healthcare. We’re looking for individuals with a strong academic background and a passion for delivering engaging student experiences.
About the role
Research
You will conduct research, publish papers, seek funding, and engage society through industry collaboration, spinouts, policy influence, and public outreach via talks, demos, and partnerships with charities.
Teaching
You will design and deliver teaching materials for lectures, tutorials, & labs. You will be educating and inspiring some of the brightest students in the country, delivering an engaging experience and a supportive programme.
Helping with the running of the department
You will have a few internal roles to help the Department run smoothly. For instance, you might help with student placements, ethics processes, recruitment & admissions or lead a research team.

About you
Our ideal candidate for both Lecturer and Senior Lecturer positions will hold a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline, along with a UG degree or equivalent experience. Membership in a professional body and a higher education teaching qualification are desirable.
Additionally, Senior Lecturers must have up-to-date knowledge of modern teaching methodologies, including learning technologies, and a strong research strategy.
