The role

The Sport, Exercise & Health Division are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to provide administration support to our successful Sports Medicine Clinic. The Sports Medicine Clinic operates from our Indoor Sports Centre (BS8 1TP) and our Outdoor Sports facilities at Coombe Dingle Sports Complex (BS9 3LQ). The successful candidate will also provide administration support to our Sport & Health Team for specific tasks as directed by their manager. As a member of the Business Development Team, the successful candidate will play an important role in support the income generation for the Division through the provision of an excellent, professional experience with the Clinic services. There is a particular focus on service excellence.

The Sports Medicine Clinic sits within our Sport and Health Team so the role holder will be working across multiple Divisional Teams and represent the Clinic in a number of cross-divisional groups e.g. Sport, Exercise & Health Communications Group

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Sports Medicine Clinic, enabling effective day-to-day operation of the clinic service. With significant sensitive communication with clinic clients, you will support all stages of the client experience either directly or by overseeing client interactions.

The role requires independence and initiative, working under minimum supervision to enable the effective delivery of the clinic service. You will provide detailed secretarial support to clinical staff, enabling them to carry out clinical treatment and other duties.

You will have experience of business management systems which are used to support the service delivery, booking processes and payment processes.

You will also provide administrative support to specific programmes managed by the Sport and Health Team. This will include mailbox management and support administrative tasks as directed by their line manager.

You will work with other SEH staff, particularly operational teams regarding client bookings and communication, and the Business Development team regarding financial administration, acting as subject-specialist for the sports clinic within the customer service-focussed work of the division.

You should apply if

You have:

  • Experience of working in a busy sport, leisure, HE environment and/or a healthcare or other clinic environment
  • Effective and professional communication skills, with a good level of written and verbal skills and a pleasant courteous manner and experience of communicating with a wide range of customers/clients
  • Experience of record-keeping and data management, including confidential data
  • Excellent organisational skills and high level of confidentiality
  • Experience of business systems
  • Experience of supporting self-employed, part-time workers
  • The ability to problem solve and make decisions where necessary · experience of updating websites and work-related use of social media
