The role
The School of Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Advanced Manufacture. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and drive forward our ambitious programme in manufacturing, setting the course for these disciplines within the school.
You will be at the centre of manufacturing teaching, with the latitude to define and develop education in manufacturing across undergraduate cohorts and programmes. The academic team is progressive and inventive, committed to a modern, integrated approach to the teaching of engineering manufacture, design, and management throughout the product lifecycle.
Research will support the mission of the Engineering Systems, Design, and Innovation Research Group (https://esdi.ac.uk/). The group is inherently multidisciplinary, combining domain knowledge with cutting-edge research to inform and develop the technologies and approaches that industry need to create the next generation of machines, products and production systems.
What will you be doing?
The primary purpose of this position is to conduct research and education in the field of advanced manufacturing.
You will conduct internationally-leading research, to include one or more of the following:
You will also contribute to teaching across a range of cohorts and programmes, with a responsibility for manufacturing-related content. This includes the opportunity to develop new curricula and content that enhance, extend, and complement existing taught offerings. Your role will include teaching, contributing to teaching management and development, and collaborating with the Design, Manufacturing, and Management academic team to teach these fundamentals to students across the School.
