Our School undertakes research at the intersection of business, social science and technology, leading projects that benefit our economy, society and planet. This type of research suits academics with disciplinary excellence who enjoy collaborating with colleagues in other fields, for example computer science, engineering, mathematics, psychology, sociology, law or health.

We are open to candidates with an ambitious research agenda that interfaces with any aspect of project management. Applications from candidates who conduct project management research from any of the following perspectives are particularly welcomed: system dynamics, behavioural operations, supply chain, technology, strategy, change, and innovation. The role is primarily targeted at empirical researchers, i.e. academics that use real data in their research, and/or experimental researchers, i.e. academics that use lab, field or natural experiments.
We care deeply about education and the student experience. We expect the candidate to provide inspiring and innovative teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate or executive levels. We are increasing our interdisciplinary programmes and therefore interest in teaching on programmes with colleagues from other disciplines is an advantage.
Importantly, we want to be a great place to work. We have a very supportive and vibrant environment to help you progress in your academic career. You will be based in the Operations and Management Science, Healthcare & Innovation group which has built a reputation for engaged research, outstanding teaching and a supportive environment.
Academics in the Business School act as a personal tutor to a small group of undergraduate students. They are expected to build a relationship with their tutees and support them throughout their studies via guided individual and group tutorials. Personal tutors facilitate students’ reflection on their academic experience, skills, progress, and ambitions, advise students about their programme and study choices and, where appropriate, signpost to support services.
