About the Role:
Working in the Education Developer team, within the Department of Learning and Teaching Enhancement, this role will support and lead the enhancement of learning, teaching and assessment across the university. Additionally, they will contribute to the wider work of the LTE, remain up to date in pedagogical innovation and debate, feeding into quality enhancement and quality assurance. Specifically, the postholder will work in partnership with our colleges and departments to inform, and support academic practices including, but not limited to, curriculum design and delivery, impactful assessment practices, the critical and evidence-informed use of AI, staff development and supporting positive student outcomes. This will include the design and delivery of staff CPD sessions, the creation of resources and the delivery of projects. Additionally, the postholder will be required to engage and support our Advance HE Routes to Fellowship, and educational development provision.
Working collaboratively with academic and professional services colleagues across the university, the postholder will be an advocate for a high-quality student experience and champion a focus that is clearly aligned to the distinctive academic mission of SOAS. About the Department:
The Department of Learning and Teaching Enhancement (LTE) provides expertise and leadership in learning, teaching, and assessment. Offering a range of services to support staff to transform the student experience, and tailored learning support for students. The department empowers others to adopt pedagogical practices that enhance learning and teaching across SOAS - this includes digital pedagogies, assessment strategies, curriculum design and online learning. The team engages in evidence-informed and student-centred approaches, and works in community with academic and professional services departments, and the wider student body, to foster spaces for collaboration, empowerment and reflection.
