The full-time starting salary is normally £42,860.00 per annum, with progression available in post to £46,586.00 per annum.
Exciting opportunities exist to join our Operating Department Practice team at Birmingham City University, to support the growth of the College of Health and Care Professions. We are seeking innovative, ambitious and inspirational candidates to join our friendly team. The successful candidates will be experienced in Operating Department Practice and Perioperative Care, and can share their knowledge effectively to learners, through their passion and commitment to education, research and high-quality service delivery.
The post holder will support teaching and learning activities across the Operating Department Practice provision and the wider College using research informed teaching and learning strategies to include design and delivery of skills and simulations, use of Anatomage, professional and academic skills, basic life support and interprofessional learning. Other responsibilities will include personal tutoring, mentor training, research supervision, providing support for students and clinical partners whilst on placement and play an active role in the recruitment of our students.
Successful candidates will be supported to develop their personal and professional academic portfolio and research interests, including the opportunity to undertake our highly regarded Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in HE.
The campus provides a modern, vibrant learning environment which houses superb facilities. Our location at our City South Campus in Edgbaston is home to our Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences and in 2022/23 benefitted from a £3.75 million redevelopment of our health care skills hub including a state-of-the-art operating theatre, recovery suite, basic and advanced life support facilities and home simulation room with our Simbulance arriving in spring 2024.
