Mary Immaculate College (MIC) is an autonomous, university-level, Catholic College of Education and the Liberal Arts. Founded in 1898, and linked academically with the University of Limerick, MIC is the oldest higher education institution in Limerick. Significant expansion in recent decades has seen the College’s offerings proliferate across two impressive campuses, one based in the heart of Limerick City and one in Thurles, Co. Tipperary. The diverse student community is made up of more than 5,000 learners, participating in twelve undergraduate degree programmes and a multiplicity of postgraduate opportunities extending to doctoral level. Academic staff are engaged in a wide range of research interests which underpins all teaching and learning at the College.

Mary Immaculate College wishes to appoint a Dean of Arts on a fulltime permanent basis.
The Dean of Arts will be instrumental in supporting and advancing the Faculty’s excellent research profile, fostering collaboration in impactful learning designs, advancing inclusive educational opportunities and, prioritising the well-being of staff and students. In addition to creative and collaborative leadership that advances sustainable research growth and an exceptional student experience, the Dean will also have responsibility for strategic and budgetary planning, will consolidate and extend internal and external partnerships, and will navigate and lead change within a dynamic higher education landscape. The successful candidate will also lead the development, design, and/or review of policies, procedures, and practices that support and advance the College within the Irish higher education landscape.
