About the Role
Barts Neuromodulation Centre based at St Bartholomew’s hospital is one of the biggest neuromodulation centres in the UK with academic and clinical excellence. We combine our clinical expertise with the latest developments in pain medicine and neuromodulation to lead and initiate clinical trials and educational activities. The Barts Neuromodulation Centre works in conjunction with Academic Pain Department (Pain Research Centre) to create a world-leading centre for neuromodulation research, with a vibrant, multidisciplinary scientific environment devoted to therapeutic innovation in chronic pain and neuromodulation. The appointee will be based primarily at SMLG campus at St Bartholomew’s Hospital for academic work and clinical duties within Barts Health NHS Trust. The appointee will become a member of academic staff within the world-renowned William Harvey Research Institute (WHRI) at Queen Mary University of London.

About You
This post would be suitable for a senior trainee or a chronic pain physician to enhance their clinical experience and publications particularly in chronic pain and neuromodulation. The appointee must be able to work flexibly and demonstrate adaptation to situation. The post holder will have a mix of solo and supervised sessions to allow & gain confidence and develop clinical skills in the specialty. The post holder would participate in MDT clinics and gain clinical experience.

The post holder would need to have GMC registration before commencing the post. If successful in obtaining the post, the candidate would be able to apply for MTI (medical training initiative) through Faculty of Pain Medicine, Royal College of Anaesthesia for GMC registration.

The post is based at the Charterhouse Square Campus in London, full-time (40 hours per week), fixed-term appointment for 12 months, with an expected start date of 1st June 2025. The starting salary will be Grade C33, point 5 (for ST7 clinical lecturer). Salary is currently £70,425 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
