The Professional Services finance team are seeking to appoint a new Assistant Accountant to be part of our busy team of 8 accountants and 6 accountancy support staff. The whole team looks after the finances of the non- academic areas of the University, totalling £240m, and ranging from Residences and Estates, to IT and HR and student careers and wellbeing.
The prime responsibility of the post will be assisting the Estates Accountant with month end and year end tasks, analysis and reconciliation, and query resolution. The person will be a main contact for Catering Services, meeting regularly the with non-finance budget holder and providing advice and support. This role is a part of the team and will require supporting team members during peak workloads.
You will be well organised, with excellent communication skills and capable of effectively processing a high volume of tasks on a daily basis. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and can prioritise their work to meet deadlines in a busy environment. Effective communication, IT and customer service skills are essential to the role.
We are currently following a hybrid working model, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. There is the opportunity to work more days in the office as desired. The successful applicant should be available to work on Highfield campus as and when there is a requirement. Working pattern will be discussed with the successful candidate.
