The Opportunity:
Working within the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biosciences, formally employed as a Veterinary Investigation Officer (VIO) but with an integrated remit also involving significant Veterinary Lecturing duties, you will support the BVSci programme delivery, the broader research activity of the school and provide service within the Veterinary Services section. Contributing to both Disease Surveillance/clinical diagnostics, excellence in teaching on the BVSci programme primarily as well as allied health programmes in the SVMB, with involvement in allied research groups. Developing the anatomic pathology aspects of the curricula, planning and, with colleagues, leading all aspects of learning and teaching in this subject area will be key.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will have some clinical experience and have undertaken post graduate study to Certificate, Masters or Diploma level in Anatomic Pathology or a related subject. Candidates must have an interest in developing veterinary education to ensure sustainability of veterinary support to the rural environment and be eligible for registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons or content to register for the RCVS Statutory Examination. They will be encouraged to work towards further qualifications in veterinary education.
Teamwork is essential, as is a current driving license, as part of the role the Veterinarian has to drive to rural remote farms to perform some duties on the farm animals.
