As part of the Oxford Martin School Digital Pandemic Preparedness Programme and the Leverhulme Centre for Demographic Science (LCDS), Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) are recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher in Digital Pandemic Preparedness.  

 
The post holder will manage and carry out research in digital pandemic preparedness by leveraging multiple types of personal digital and real-world data (behavioural, demographic, economic, disease, biological, environmental) – with ethics, privacy and public trust at the core.
 
You will be responsible for publishing research articles, communicating results at national and international conferences, managing your own academic research, and developing and collaborating on projects and writing funding applications. You will also play a key role participating within the Oxford Martin School Digital Pandemic Preparedness Programme (https://www.oxfordmartin.ox.ac.uk/digital-pandemic-preparedness), the Leverhulme Centre for Demographic Science (https://www.demography.ox.ac.uk) and link with the Pandemic Sciences Institute (https://www.psi.ox.ac.uk).
 
To be considered, you will hold or be close to completion of a PhD/DPhil in Demography, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Epidemiology, Public Health or related discipline. You will have relevant experience in working with different types of personal and/or real-world digital data and/or pandemic or emergency preparedness modelling and consideration of ethical and privacy aspects.
 
This is a full time (part-time considered), fixed term post for 3 years. The closing date for applications is noon on 16 May 2025.
