We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Timetable Coordinator to join our Academic Registry team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced timetabler to play a key role in constructing and maintaining the University’s centrally coordinated timetable, ensuring high academic quality and efficiency.

About the role

As a Timetable Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing timetabling data, working closely with academic and administrative colleagues to support the delivery of a well-structured timetable. You will develop expertise in timetabling software, ensuring data accuracy and identifying opportunities for process improvements. Additionally, you will provide guidance and training to staff, support room booking processes, and contribute to strategic space management initiatives.

The role requires excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Taking a lead role in constructing and maintaining the University’s centrally coordinated teaching timetable.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of timetabling data within the University's software systems (TechnologyOne, Tribal SITS, and MyTimetable).
  • Liaising with academic departments to provide support and advice on programme proposals and timetabling considerations.
  • Supporting the development of new processes and procedures in line with university policies.
  • Assisting with the design and production of management reports on space management and room usage.
  • Providing training and technical support to Faculty/Departmental timetablers and central service staff.
  • Handling timetabling and room booking queries, using empathy and understanding to resolve issues.
  • Keeping up to date with sector-wide timetabling developments and best practices.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Experience of working with timetabling in a professional setting, ideally within Higher Education.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
  • Excellent IT skills, including experience with complex databases and spreadsheet software.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly to different audiences.

This is an excellent opportunity to apply and develop your timetabling expertise in a collaborative and supportive environment. You will work at the heart of a key university service, helping to shape an efficient and high-quality timetable that enhances the student experience.

If you have experience in timetabling, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a keen eye for detail, we would love to hear from you!
