This is an exciting opportunity to work with a multi-country surveillance dataset (Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania) on an invasive mosquito that has been implicated for malaria outbreaks in urban areas. You will be responsible for the data analysis and co-design of next malaria surveillance and control plans. This exciting opportunity will allow you to work in a multi-institutional project within a team of world-leading malaria experts. If you are passionate about using your skills in statistical modelling to make a difference to complex problems such as malaria elimination, then we would love to hear from you.
You should show a high proficiency in working within the R statistical environment; demonstrable experience of analysing spatial and temporal data for research purposes; a good understanding of ecological and epidemiological concepts; experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams; and effective communication skills. A desire to be part of an international collaboration, and be willing to travel occasionally to Africa is essential for this position.
You will be based at Lancaster Medical School and will work with spatial epidemiologist Dr Luigi Sedda (Lancaster Medical School) and project partners.
