Academic Development Programme - new Assistant Professors will undertake a 5-year development programme, at the end of which they are expected to be promoted to Associate Professor. The programme consists of a variety of development opportunities and the time to reflect and develop.
Background
The Department of Management, part of the triple accredited Birmingham Business School at the University of Birmingham, is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor (Education focused) in Leadership. This role forms part of a wider investment into the School’s academic excellence and commitment to setting new global standards in responsible business, one future leader at a time. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us and make significant contributions to the education excellence of our university.
The post holder will become a member of the Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Innovation (ELI) subject group within the Department of Management. The ELI Group makes significant contributions to our undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA teaching portfolio in the areas of Leadership. It is anticipated that the post holder will contribute to both our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
Role Summary
You will contribute to a range of education-related activities. In addition, you will be expected to demonstrate academic citizenship, developing and maintaining mutually respectful and supportive working relationships with all staff and students, and ensuring the way you carry out your role impacts positively on how others carry out theirs.
