Harper Adams University are looking to employ a part time Post Doctoral Research Assistant who will play a key role in the second phase of the enhanced TFP project, which aims to estimate a prototype Total Factor Productivity (TFP) measure that includes non-market agricultural outputs and impacts beyond environmental indicators.
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in agricultural economics, econometrics, environmental economics, or a related field, with clear details on the institution and date of achievement. Essential experience includes working with government agencies or engaging in policy-oriented research, along with expertise in analyzing agricultural economics data at the national level, incorporating macroeconomic accounts and non-market indicators. Familiarity with agricultural research and the measurement of agricultural productivity, as well as experience in assessing various agricultural impacts such as biodiversity and animal welfare, would be highly desirable. Strong analytical skills in time series analysis, particularly using software such as E-Views, Stata, R, or Python, are advantageous. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within a research team while also managing independent research activities.
