The University of Glasgow has been changing the world for more than 574 years, and we are one of the world's top 100 universities, ranked 12th in the world in the Times Higher Education (THE) World Impact Rankings 2024, demonstrating that we are not only one of the best universities in the United Kingdom, but one of the best universities for the world. Our people have always been at the forefront of innovation, and our past achievements inspire our current world changers.
This is a great opportunity for an Intellectual Property & Data Manager to join the University’s expanding IP & Commercialisation team.
The role will involve maintaining up-to-date case files using the University's document management system, support invoicing/cost recovery, support diligence on university ownership/freedom to exploit analysis, produce activity reports for various internal clients and to collaborate with team members to contribute to process as well as service improvements.
The remit of the IP & Commercialisation team is to support academics/researchers to translate innovations arising from their research activity into assets that can be licensed or assigned to spin-out companies, start-up ventures or existing businesses. These licensees will then invest in these early-stage assets to develop and launch new products or services. Intellectual property protection, of some form, is therefore a key requirement and an important function in the IP & Commercialisation team.
