About the role
The GHI Research Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting all externally funded research awards and overseeing the financial requirements of award submissions within the department to ensure due diligence is taken in costing and managing externally awarded research projects. Ideally you will have significant experience of working in post-award financial management in a higher education setting with knowledge of NIHR and MRC funding, due diligence, audit and claims processes within a Global Health context. You will be able to work independently and manage the portfolio of external research activity with support from members of the team.
About you
You will be experienced in Post Award research finance with experience of NIHR funding and other research funding bodies, ideally being able to demonstrate managing large complex multi-partner research awards with a proven track record of overseeing financial claims for both UK and overseas partners. Experience of complex procurement purchases and customs and shipping processes is also required. You will have the skills to manage your own workload and at times, support other colleagues. You will have good relationship skills and be able work with colleagues both within and outside of the organisation to ensure due process is followed with regard to all financial aspects of research award management.
