The Department
The Placement and Employment Service based within Student Services engage with employers, students, academic schools, central service departments and the local community to expand the choice and quality of employment opportunities on offer across disciplines with the aim of enhancing our students’ exposure to the world of work.
The Role
The Placement Officer role is centred on supporting UWL undergraduate and post graduate students to secure work experience as part of their degree. The successful candidate will enjoy brokering meaningful internal and external partnerships, lead a team to support quality work experience provision, employability events, and represent the Placement Service at internal and external events.
Please note this is an on-site role primarily based at our St. Mary’s Road Campus in Ealing.
The Person
The successful candidate will have experience working in an operational support team, be experienced in negotiation and service delivery, able to develop close and effective working relationships with colleagues and external organisations.
The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills, the ability to problem solve and work well under pressure, a demonstrable customer service ethos, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in both written and verbal format.
The successful candidate will also have proficient IT skills including experience of using and customising CRM database systems to improve service delivery and manage priorities. The position is an excellent opportunity to make a difference at a high performing modern and diverse London university.
