About the Role:

Based in the Musical Theatre team in the Cambridge School of Creative Industries, your principle role will be to carry out teaching and deliver practical sessions to undergraduate Musical Theatre students, with a focus on Musical Direction. You will be expected to design and develop teaching materials across a range of modules and to contribute to curriculum development. You’ll play an important role in developing Anglia Ruskin University’s lively BA (Hons) Musical Theatre.

With knowledge and experience of the professional Musical Theatre industry, you will have the ability to MD at least two shows a year, adapting vocal and instrumentation parts as necessary, and to create practice tracks and/or show tracks. You will have knowledge of a breadth of Musical Theatre repertoire and the ability to coach developing singers, along with excellent piano and sight-reading skills.

This 0.5FTE role is available as either a Lecturer or Lecturer Practitioner. For the Lecturer role you will have successful teaching experience at HE level and/or relevant professional experience. A degree plus a PhD or Professional Doctorate, completed or nearing completion within the first 18 months of employment, is essential. For the Lecturer Practitioner role, a degree or relevant professional qualification is essential. Teaching experience at HE level will be a benefit.
