Background
To create and contribute to the creation of knowledge by undertaking a specified range of activities within an established research programme and/or specific research project.
This Wellcome Trust-funded post is established to study the mechanisms of transcription start site (TSS) selection and TSS-mediated mRNA diversification in tumours. The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary research team within the Department of Cancer and Genomic Sciences. The main role will be to apply and develop new methods of genome wide analysis of transcription initiation dynamics on the single cell level in the complexity of tumor organoids and in the developing vertebrate embryo and will use genomics technologies (CAGE-seq, single cell ATAC seq, single cell 5’ end transcriptomics etc.) and then analyse the data by cutting edge computational genomics tools to achieve new models of transcription regulation during cancer development and morphogenesis and to answer questions about transcription start site regulation in diverse cell populations responding to developmental and /or growth signals. They will perform and develop assays for single cell genomics and develop and apply genomics data analysis tools and will have the opportunity for advanced training in these areas.
