Health and Social Care Lecturer

Purpose

Scholars School System is seeking to appoint a Lecturer to support the provision of the Health and Social Care curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate level, with a strong emphasis on teaching, learning and related activities to support student academic experience.

Reports to: Associate Dean of Health and Social Care

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Support student academic journey and maintain records under Programme and Year Lead oversight.
• Act as deputy module lead, ensuring quality and academic excellence.
• Contribute to assessment, marking, and moderation per quality standards.
• Develop innovative and inclusive learning resources, including e-learning.
• Provide academic tutoring to support student progress.
• Ensure teaching and assessment meet internal and external quality standards.
• Promote innovation in education, maximising digital resources.
• Handle academic administration and participate in committees.
• Engage in research, scholarship, and knowledge exchange where applicable.
• Maintain professional development through training.
• Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion for student belonging.

Requirements

Essential:

• Master’s Degree in health-related subject
• Higher Education Teaching Qualification: PGCert/SFHEA/AFHEA/FHEA
• Significant experience in teaching within a Higher Education setting
• PHD/EDD is desirable

Benefits

• Salary is £30,000 – £35,000
• Basic Hours are 9am to 6pm
• Trips away from the office are often required which will be paid for
• Holiday entitlement is 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
• Up to £5k annual incentives pro-rata given quarterly on meeting KPIs (on top of salary)
• 3% annual increase per year on completion from your start date of service and on meeting KPIs
