The School of Law is looking to appoint a part-time (0.5 full-time equivalent (FTE)) Senior Lecturer to act as Director of Professional Legal Education.  The successful candidate will be expected to act as Programme Lead for the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice and to seek to further develop the School’s Professional Legal Education portfolio.

There is some scope for flexibility in start date, but it would be preferable if the successful candidate could be in place in no later than 1st August 2025.

The successful candidate(s) will be expected in particular to:

  • Direct the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice, liaising as appropriate with the profession, its regulators and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategy relative to the provision of CPD and professional legal education.
  • Contribute as appropriate to the School’s commercialisation strategy.
  • Design and/or oversee the design of teaching material and deliver it appropriately either across a range of courses or within a subject area.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 8, £59,139 - £66,537 per annum, pro rata and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.

Any appointment will be made subject to satisfactory references and will be subject to a probation period.
