About the role:
This is a full-time, 2-year post based within the MRC Centre for Environment and Health at the School of Public Health at Imperial.
You will be joining a team of leading experts in exposure science, epidemiology, biostatistics, and public health studying the social and environmental determinats of health across the UK.
What you would be doing:
You will be based in the Small Area Health Statistics Unit (SAHSU) at Imperial School of Public Health, which is internationally renowned for data-driven research on population health and environmental health. You will be leading (research associate) and/or contribute to (research assistant) scientific studies on social and environmental determinants of health, with a focus on exposure assessment for residential postcode/address locations by applying and further developing existing exposure models. Important challenges are the integration of diverse and complex national geospatial data, the application of advanced environmental model algorithms, and secure linkage to health data assets.
What we are looking for:
You must have exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, experience of modelling environmental exposures such as air pollution, noise or greenspace, motivation for problem solving, experience with large geosaptial datasets, ability to efficiently manage large quantities of data, excellent skills in GIS, R or Python, strong communication capabilities, aptitude for interdisciplinary research and teamwork, and ability to work and learn independently.

This is a full-time and a fixed-term (24 months)
Your will be based in the recently opened dediated School of Public Health building on the Imperial White City Campus. The building was constructed with inclusivity at its heart. Spread over 7 floors, the building offers inclusive toilets, hight-adjustable desks and a nursing room.
