Soft FM Services are responsible for cleaning and portering services to the university’s academic, administrative, and residential estate. Soft FM facilitates all university key events, such as graduation and open days and ensures areas are prepared for other events such as receptions and summer conferences.
Duties of the Role
Soft FM Services is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Operations Assistant to join our busy team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for removal of rubbish, the cleaning of external areas the academic, administrative, commercial and residential estate, supporting core events and health and safety checks across the administrative, academic and residential estate. Candidates must be able to undertake the physical aspects of the post, have good verbal communication and listening skills, a commitment to delivering good customer service and a flexible approach to work.

Appointment to the part-time post will be made on an 18 hours per week to be worked as required within the working operational window of 5.30am - 8.00pm, 5 days in 7 days. However, in the interests of working efficiency the University may from time-to-time review current working patterns. Changes to working patterns resulting from this will be subject to a minimum of 21 calendar days' notice.
Current working pattern is Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7:00am – 1:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid break. The days worked within this pattern can be discussed at interview stage.
