The faculty of Economics is looking to hire a Postdoctoral Research Assistant/Research Associate, starting date is negotiable. The current funding is guaranteed from the Leverhulme Trust.
We are looking for a candidate with an interest in interdisciplinary research and teaching straddling the fields of economics, engineering (control and dynamical systems) and neuroscience. The post is attached to Prof. Peter Bossaerts' Leverhulme Trust International Professorship. The research aims at exploring and understanding human adaptability in the face of uncertainty and complexity. For this position, the successful candidate should have an interest in adaptive control, in particular model-reference based adaptive control (MRAC). Knowledge of economics and econometrics is desirable, especially if this concerns decision-making under uncertainty. The successful candidate will be expected to work on exploring MRAC as a framework to understand human decision-making under uncertainty, its neurobiological foundations, and related psychological and psychiatric phenomena. S/he is to aim to publish in high-impact academic journals. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the collegial and intellectual life of the Economics Faculty and help promote interdisciplinarity across campus.
Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD.
