Applications are invited for the role of School Research Grant Assistant within the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences.
This is an exciting and varied post primarily dedicated to supporting research grant administration and research related objectives in the Faculty of Education, whilst also supporting other institutions across the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences as part of a wider, flexible team of School Research Grant Assistants.
The Faculty of Education is one of the largest groups of educational researchers and teacher educators in the country. Currently, the Faculty has an academic staff of 21 Professors and over 30 Assistant and Associate Professors, and over 90 research and other teaching staff. There are approximately 70 professional services staff in support of teaching, research, outreach projects, finance, library, IT, audio- visual, buildings, HR, finance and communications. The Grant Assistant role is vital to the research objectives of the Faculty and will play a major part in all aspects of research administration.
The School Research Grant Assistant provides expert support and guidance to Principal Investigators (PIs) and Faculty based research staff, with an outcome of timely, accurate and risk-mitigated research grant applications. The role holder works in collaboration with PIs and project support staff to enable effective and efficient grant management of active research grants across the School.

The successful applicant will join a team of experienced research grant personnel, working collaboratively across the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences.
Although experience in a research role is advantageous, applications from individuals with transferable skills are welcome, since full training in research grant systems and processes will be provided, where required.
Temporary cover: This post is fixed-term for 12 months or the return of the post holder, whichever is the earlier.
This a 1.0 FTE role, based at a combination of the Faculty of Education, the Humanities and Social Sciences School Office, and remotely. Hours and working pattern can be discussed at interview.
